The AMS-5702 is a combined-axis far-field measurement test system providing 3D radiated performance measurements of 5G mmWave wireless devices. It offers precise device positioning with hundredths of a degree resolution and reproducibility, excelling in 5G FR2 "white-box" applications where transmitting antenna characteristics and location are known.
The RF-shielded anechoic enclosure is mobile on wheels for sharing among design groups. A linear slide provides variable path length from 50 cm to 150 cm, allowing optimisation between AUT and probe antenna. Larger antenna arrays benefit from increased path length, while smaller diameters use closer positioning to improve dynamic range. It covers antenna array diameters up to 10 cm at 20 GHz and 7 cm at 44 GHz.
