Gain slope equalisers are used to compensate for low pass filtering in transmission lines, amplifiers, packaging transitions, and other sources. These passive circuits have a mild high pass filtering effect, with an insertion loss that decreases with increasing frequency. When cascaded with a low pass filtering network such as a transmission line, the resulting network will have a flat transfer function with frequency.
