APC Technology supports The Footprints Foundation with its latest projects in South Africa
Representatives from APC Technology Group travel out to Johannesburg, South Africa to support The Footprints Foundation.
The Footprints Foundation began supporting projects in South Africa with a volunteering programme in 2007. Footprints aim to tackle the problems and issues facing disadvantaged and vulnerable young and elderly people, and those people with significant health issues. The volunteer programme supports these people during the most trying periods of their lives and helps give them the strength and confidence to enjoy a more fulfilled life. This is achieved through volunteering and hands-on help, rather than solely providing financial support.
As a long-time supporter of the Footprints Foundation, APC has contributed to many of the projects already active in South Africa. This includes the building of schools and healthcare facilities which has had a massive impact on the quality of life for people in the local communities. In early 2022, the Footprints Foundation approached APC, asking for members of our team to join their upcoming project in Johannesburg.
Jyoti Bunger and Luke Tyler have been selected to represent APC. Flying out to South Africa on the 15th of October, Jyoti and Luke will be spending a week helping to build an orphange in Mid-Ennerdale, a small township 45 minutes outside of Johannesburg. They will be helping to decorate, clean and look after the children at the orphanage.
"Firstly, I’m incredibly grateful to have this opportunity to be part of something on a larger scale that can make an impact. I’m looking forward to having an insight to see how Footprints operate and to be hands-on with the development of an orphanage. I'm excited to meet and support the children and to embrace the rich culture in this part of the world. Watch out for our daily updates on LinkedIn!"

"This is going to be a truly amazing experience. It's something that I've always wanted to do, but have not yet had the opportunity to do. I'm extremely thankful to Bob Holt (the founder of the Footprints Foundation) for letting me have the chance to support a foundation like this.
As I work with young adults in the RAF Air Cadets already, I feel that I can take my experience from this trip and encourage the next generation to try something out of their comfort zone and help those less fortunate than ourselves."

Being born in South Africa himself, APC's CEO; Richard Hodgson; has always wanted to do something with Footprints as it is a cause close to his heart. Bob Holt OBE (Chairman of The Footprints Foundation) was Richard's boss in his previous role before joining APC, so the connection between the the charity and APC Technology has been strong for many years.
APC started supporting Footprints in early 2019 with a view to sending volunteers on one of their programmes but when the pandemic happened, we thought this opporunity would be lost. With Covid over, Bob approached Richard for volunteers and he jumped at the chance:
