Meinberg announces the first of two additions to their microSync family of time servers

Versatile and feature-rich synchronisation devices, offering a high level of efficiency and flexibility.

Since its launch in 2019, Meinberg's microSync range of time servers has proven to be a popular, cost-effective solution for time and frequency synchronisation with its modern design and streamlined performance.

Like the more powerful LANTIME systems, the microSync family is a series of cost-effective GNSS-synchronised synchronisation systems that are operable as PTP clocks (operable as a grandmaster, boundary clock or ordinary clock), NTP servers, and programmable clock signal generators all at once.

This new model, a variation on Meinberg's popular microSyncRX series, is designed specifically for data center and power substation applications that require front panel control access from one side of the rack while ensuring that cable connections are well-hidden at the rear.

The front of the microSyncTRX series is defined by its clarity and simplicity–all that is visible is the easily readable OLED display, the status LEDs, and the rotary controller for the initial network configuration and status navigation.

microSync TRX Key Features:

  • A powerful Stratum 1 NTP/PTP time server
  • 1U chassis, specially constructed for installation in a 19” rack
  • Engineered to order with various receiver-clocks
  • OLED Display for fast initial start of operation and status monitoring
  • Different oscillator options for advanced holdover performance

Versatility and reliability meet high-performance

Meinberg’s microSyncRX and microSyncTRX time servers are versatile and feature-rich synchronisation devices that offer a high level of efficiency and flexibility. These innovative, multipurpose synchronisation solutions provide a variety of outstanding features within a 19” rack-mounted chassis design.

Some microSyncRX models and all microSyncTRX models feature an OLED display with a rotary controller for initial network configuration and local status monitoring. The microSyncRX and microSyncTRX are suitable not only as a capable PTP grandmaster but also as a high-performance NTP server, clock pulse generator and frequency reference, making it ideal for a variety of industry applications.

The integrated meinbergOS firmware unites a sleek and user-friendly interface with power and versatility, with support for most PTP profiles and fine control over the system’s operating parameters. The various microSyncRX and microSyncTRX models differ in terms of the input and outputs available and the choice of GNSS receiver, from a basic GPS-only receiver to a fully-featured multi-GNSS solution that supports all four of the main GNSS constellations.

The second addition to Meinberg's microSync family is coming soon. To learn more about this highly anticipated release, contact our team of time synchronisation experts for exclusive insights and updates.
