SyncFire 1500 - Meinberg's next-generation high-end NTP server

Designed for hyperscale data centre environments in which high volumes of NTP requests are anticipated, Meinberg's SyncFire 1500 is capable of handling hundreds of thousands of requests per second while offering the customary stability and security of Meinberg's LANTIME OS.

Meinberg's next-generation high-end NTP server, the SyncFire 1500 offers top-of-the-line NTP server performance with no compromises. Constructed to order with an integrated GPS or multi-GNSS (GNS) receiver or a PTP slave specially engineered for optimum synchronisation performance, the SyncFire 1500 is designed for (and excels in) hyperscale environments which rely on a large number of devices having a single common time reference

Shipped with four RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces as standard, the network connectivity can be expanded with an additional four RJ45 Gigabit interfaces or an additional two SFP+, SFP28, or QSFP+ interfaces for 10, 25, and 40 Gigabit Ethernet respectively, ensuring seamless integration with an existing network infrastructure.

Based on the Intel® M10JNP server platform, the SyncFire 1500 is equipped with a six-core Intel® Xeon E2276G CPU that provides tangible per-core performance increases over the SyncFire 1200.

A comparison of the SyncFire 1200 and SyncFire 1500 under comparable conditions revealed that the SyncFire 1500 was able to handle 825,000 NTP requests per second from diverse IP addresses, compared to 750,000 NTP requests for the SyncFire 1200.

Meinberg’s tried-and-trusted LANTIME OS powers the SyncFire 1500 under the hood, providing access to all the security, network, and monitoring features that you could ever need from an enterprise-grade synchronisation appliance, while Meinberg's internally developed multi-threaded NTP implementation allows the SyncFire 1500 to make optimum use of the processor's six-core architecture.

GNSS & PTP Capabilities

The SyncFire 1500 is available exclusively in the UK and Ireland from APC with Meinberg's GPS receiver or multi-GNSS "GNS" receiver. The SyncFire 1500 is the first model of the SyncFire series to also be equipped with Oregano Systems' high-performance syn1588® PCIe NIC for industry-leading PTP time receiver-mode performance. This allows the SyncFire 1500 to be synchronised to any Stratum 0 GNSS time source or to a high-accuracy IEEE1588 PTP time Transmitter clock for exemplary NTP server capacity.

SyncFire 1500 Key Features:

  • Synchronisation of NTP and SNTP compatible clients
  • Supports hundreds of thousands of NTP requests per Second
  • Multi-Threading Support developed by Meinberg
  • Intel® XEON® E2276G CPU (4.90 GHz, 6 Cores, 12 Threads)
