APC Technology Group Selected to be part of the North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium for the Supply of Electronic Test Equipment
APC can now better support universities with their requirements for the latest electronic test equipment for the continued education of students and research groups within their labs.
The North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC) is a not-for-profit organisation owned by 24 member universities within the North West region. NWUPC aims to provide a structure for higher education institutions to secure value for money in matters relating to purchasing goods and services.
Following a detailed tender process led by NWUPC, APC has successfully been selected as one of five organisations that have met the strict selection criteria. In addition to offering competitive pricing on a wide range of electronic test solutions, APC’s specialist Test Solutions team demonstrated their ability to provide technical assistance and insight, derived from many years of partnering with leading equipment manufacturers.
As a supplier on the framework agreement, APC will now work with NWUPC along with seven other UK university purchasing consortiums to supply member universities across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland with the latest test and measurement solutions.
Central to the tender process was the ability to supply key pieces of test equipment from leading manufacturers such as Keysight and Tektronix. APC has a successful history of partnering with many equipment manufacturers and offers a wide selection of test equipment solutions from a comprehensive portfolio of brands including Bird RF, GW Instek and Pico Technology.
Offering Technical Insight In Addition To Competitive Pricing
Working closely with technology partners, APC prides itself on being able to offer technical advice, product support and insight to its customers. The technical support offered by APC helps to set it apart from other equipment resellers. APC's technical team is quick to understand what customers need, both for the projects they are working on today and those they are planning for tomorrow. By working collaboratively with engineering and purchasing teams and with the support of equipment manufacturers, APC's team of experts deliver the insight needed to help make customer's solutions more reliable, efficient and economical.
To keep up with rapidly changing technologies and product developments, APC's technical sales team regularly attend manufacturer training sessions and industry events. In turn, this enables them to pass on the latest thinking and test techniques from the equipment manufacturers to their customers - ensuring test solutions are used effectively to produce accurate and repeatable results.

Helping Universities Meet Their Strategic Test Equipment Purchasing Needs
Framework agreements are critical to public sector organisations, as they can offer significant cost savings to member institutions. Equally important, framework agreements help with compliance with EU procurement law and minimise litigation risk. In turn, university procurement teams can avoid having to run individual tenders for their particular needs, reducing the strain on internal resources.
The NWUPC framework agreement for the supply of electrical test equipment is scheduled to run for the next four years, beginning on the 1st July 2024. During this time, APC will support higher education establishments such as the University of Liverpool and the University of Manchester to meet their strategic and immediate test equipment purchasing needs.
