Meinberg announces the launch of its new-generation GPSANT antenna for GPS and Galileo reception: the GPSANTv2

GPSANTv2 Antenna - A High-performance Antenna Engineered for Time, Frequency, and Phase Synchronisation

The GPSANTv2 antenna is Meinberg's next-generation GPS and Galileo antenna for superior reception and performance. An evolution of their distinctive and dependable GPSANT technology, the GPSANTv2 is optimised for use with Meinberg’s industry-leading time and frequency synchronisation servers. The integrated frequency downconverter scales the incoming carrier frequency of 1575.42 MHz down to just 35 MHz, which allows the GPS or Galileo signal to be transported reliably over long distances of up to 700 m using conventional low-loss coaxial cable.

The GPSANTv2 has been redesigned from the ground up to provide vastly superior operating characteristics. The GPSANTv2 lays the groundwork for substantial improvements to Meinberg's clock technology (to be announced in the near future) but remains fully backwards compatible with existing Meinberg GPS and GNS-UC receivers and will, of course, provide performance benefits for these.

Clock Capability

The GPSANTv2 is compatible with all standard Meinberg GPS and GNS-UC clock technologies. If you intend to use the GPSANTv2 with a Meinberg GPS clock whose design predates the year 2000.

GPSANTv1 and GPSANTv2

Concurrently with the launch of the new GPSANTv2, Meinberg will be phasing out the original GPSANT antenna ("GPSANTv1"). This phase-out has been motivated primarily by Meinberg's longstanding commitment to continuously improving its technology.
